Thatcher Keats

Thatcher's studio is located on Gramercy Park North, in a studio apartment. He used to live here with his wife and son, but they moved upstate about a year ago. Thatcher kept the apartment to use as his workspace here in the city, where he does most of his photo-based work.

This pin-up system is adopted from a classic darkroom technique.

He used to dry prints back to back against the wall like this in order to insure that they didn't curl. Then he began to just hang everything that way.

Thatcher's Dad was an actor in the 70's and 80's. This is a publicity pic of him from the film The Friends of Eddie Coyle.
